Today was a full day in the Czech capital, Prague, beautiful city with a long and distinguised history. The city deserves the attention it is getting as a tourist magnet. We started out with breakfast, then got on the bus to go for a tour of St Vitus Cathedral and the King's Castle (on the hill across the river). We learned that King Wenceslas of the Christmas Carol fame, never was a king at all. He truly was a very good man, but he was only a Duke. The church and castle were phenominal. and our Czech guide was excellent.
We were to have done some other touring of the city centre area, but time limits restricted that a bit. We got some food, and then reported for At Nicolaus Church on the Old Market to do a bit of a run through of our music before our 2 pm concert. The rehearsal went very well, but we could see people at the door anxious to get in. The church was quite cold so they put on some heaters.
We had the biggest crowd so far this tour, and the concert started right at 2 pm. The pieces were well received by our apreciative audience of locals and tourists. A big surprise was that the church had arranged to record our concert and at the end gave us (Richard, that is) a CD of our performance. We thought that was pretty neat. Afterwards some stayed to look around the Centre Cuty area, and others went back to the hotel to rest or get organized for tomorrow.

At 5 pm we left for the restaurant for our evening meal - it was at a restaurant - beer hall. The atmosphere, food and beer were all very good, as was the live Oom Pa Pah! music. Unfortunately, we had to leave quite soon because of the scheduled symphony concert at the Municipal Concert Hall. The music there was great, and our group of over 50 attending, appreciated the music very much. We heard first symphonies by Beethoven and Gustav Mahler. The Mahler piece was intended to bring in spring. If anything could do the trick, that performance could achieve results.

Afterwards we walked back to our hotel, and socialized in the lobby with some of our group.
